Internet of Things (IoT)
Dec 24, 2018

Connections between devices and objects are rapidly expanding, commonly referred to as “the Internet of Things” we are seeing technology such as sensors embedded in more and more everyday things like cars, utility meters, white goods, wearable fitness trackers or home security system. This makes object capable of sensing remotely communicating with each other, with users or with a central system for any purposes.

The Internet of things is a catch all term encompassing the network of items, each embedded with technology which are connected to the internet

IoT mainly relies on machine-to-machine communication, where the mobile phone is used as a utility gadget that can easily control other gadgets, even remotely.
It is built on cloud computing and networks of data-gathering sensors that involve mobile, virtual and instantaneous connection. This is an environment in which objects, or people are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction
